The University of Virginia School of Medicine offers research opportunities for summer internships to qualified students for a career in biomedical research. The objectives of the program, but is not limited to, racially and ethnically diverse students in their junior and senior years. Interns receive $ 4,412 for the cost of the summer. Our first program was held in summer 1992. The program recently found about 35 students per year.The Summer Research Internship Program unique environment to learn first hand about a career in biomedical research. Many of our participants have srip former MD / PhD and PhD programs, including registered UVA.
